Disney futureland
Tomorrowland is one of the many themed lands featured at all of the Magic Kingdom styled Disney theme parks around the world owned or licensed by The Walt Disney Company. Each version of the land is different and features numerous attractions that depict views of the future. Disneyland Park in Paris includes a similar area called Discoveryland, which shares some elements with other Tomorrowlands but emphasizes visions of the future inspired by Jules Verne. Walt Disney was known for his futurist Tomorrowland was originally designed to portray Disney's view of the future. The only trouble with futuristic views is that they need frequent updating. In the 90's, Disney chose a different tactic and renovated Tomorrowland to depict the future as described by sci-fi writers from the 1920's and 1930's. By the early 1960s, Walt Disney imagined an ideal future for his grandchildren. He wanted to create real communities—even whole cities—by applying what he had learned in creating Disneyland. He decided to build something that was not a place to visit, but a place to live. The park’s current “ Googie ” architecture is a relic from the past, “a space age look that was enormously popular during the 1950s,” according to the Disney website. The rides are a mixture of vintage classics (Autopia, the monorail, ON DISC. Bound by a shared destiny, a teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor embark on a mission to unearth the secrets of a place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory.
